Background:

My passion for nutrition started in my 30’s as an endurance athlete, training for Ironman triathlons. During this time, I quickly learned the importance of bio-individuality and the fact that mastering my nutrition was as important as maintaining my physical training regimen. In my 40’s, with changing hormones, digestive distress, and the physical and emotional strain of motherhood (all while maintaining a full-time executive marketing role), I have been driven to learn the science behind food for energy and healing. With a functional nutrition lens, I can have learned it is not about what you eat, but rather about what your body can do with what you eat.
Recently, I have embarked on a mission to use my extensive professional marketing background to expose myths in food marketing and drive awareness around toxic ingredients used in processed foods. Follow me @AmericanSnacktivist to learn more!
